Customers, colleagues and plenty of friendly competition came together on the Gold Coast for the annual Sci-Fleet Hino Tenkaichi Golf Qualifier on Wed 2 September 2026.

Sci-Fleet Hino recently welcomed around 50 customers and guests to join the Sci-Fleet team for its annual Tenkaichi Golf Qualifier, held at the spectacular Links Golf & Wellbeing at Hope Island on the Gold Coast.

More than simply a day on the course, the annual event is an opportunity for Sci-Fleet Hino to thank its customers for their continued support, spend valuable time together away from the day-to-day business environment, and celebrate the long-standing relationships that have been built over the years.

And with plenty of keen golfers among the field, there was certainly no shortage of friendly competition.

A championship course worthy of the occasion

The setting for this year's event was hard to beat.  Links Golf & Wellbeing at Hope Island is home to an impressive 18-hole, par-72 championship course stretching 6,492 metres. With five tees per hole, man-made water hazards and no fewer than 117 strategically positioned pot-style bunkers, the beautifully maintained course rewards thoughtful play while providing plenty of challenges for even experienced golfers.

Players also had the opportunity to tackle the course's signature par-3 17th, requiring a lengthy carry across water and often into a prevailing headwind, before finishing on the picturesque par-5 18th overlooking the lake and clubhouse.

For a field containing plenty of serious golfers, it provided the perfect backdrop for a little healthy competition.

An early start and plenty of anticipation

The day began bright and early, with players arriving to collect their Sci-Fleet Hino shirts, hats and goodie bags before preparing for the round ahead.

Some headed straight for the practice facilities to warm up their swing and fine-tune their putting, while others took the opportunity to catch up with fellow players and enjoy some downtime before competition got underway.

Following a briefing on the day's proceedings and an all-important group photo, it was time to jump aboard the golf carts and head out to the designated starting holes.

At 8:00am, the shotgun start was underway and the 2026 Sci-Fleet Hino Tenkaichi Golf Qualifier had officially begun.  From big drives and challenging approaches to some competitive putting on the greens, there was plenty happening across the course throughout the morning.

Celebrating our top teams

With the final putts sunk and scorecards submitted, everyone returned to the clubhouse where Sci-Fleet Hino hosted lunch, followed by the day's presentations.

Sci-Fleet Hino Dealer Principal Craig Andersson took on MC duties, recognising the day's achievements and, importantly, thanking the customers and guests who continue to support Sci-Fleet Hino.

Congratulations to our Top Five teams:

1st place (Team 1)

  • Barry Archer, Scott Power, Dr Mick Power, Andrew SciFleet

2nd place (Team 9)

  • Chad Brown, Tim Hill, Zac Parmeter, Cooper Sci-Fleet

3rd place (Team 10)

  • Mitchell Clarke , David Jones, Andrew Mckenzie, Jenson Sci-Fleet

4th place (Team 8)

  • David Blackburn, Shannon Marshall, Clayton Nel, James Thomson

5th place (Team 3)

  • Will Andersson, Hayden Brady, Marc Peel, Dale Versfeld

A fantastic effort from our winners and everyone who took to the course and gave it their best.

There may have been a competitive edge to proceedings, but the camaraderie, laughs and conversations throughout the day were just as much a part of what makes this annual event special.

Next stop: the Tenkaichi National Finals

For our winning qualifiers (the Top 3 teams), the competition isn't over yet.

They will now have the opportunity to progress to the Hino Australia-sponsored Tenkaichi National Finals in September 2027, where they'll take their game to the next level and compete on the national stage.

We wish them the very best of luck!

A day made possible by the people behind it.

During the presentations, one of Sci-Fleet Hino's customers also took a moment to acknowledge Craig and the work that goes on behind the scenes to bring an event like this together each year.

It's a fitting reminder that days like these are about much more than the final scores.

They're about bringing people together, strengthening relationships and having the opportunity to say thank you to the customers who have supported Sci-Fleet Hino over the years.

As Craig reflected during the presentations, it had been a fantastic day, on a beautiful course, made all the better by the customers and guests who joined the Sci-Fleet Hino team.

I would like to thank our customers, our colleagues and our staff for taking the time out their busy week to enjoy the day.  Getting people away from their day to day is not always easy, time is precious, but we do appreciate it and thank you for your support and loyalty with Sci-Fleet over the years.

- Craig Andersson, Dealer Principal, Sci-Fleet Hino

Thank you for another great day

Whether you finished at the top of the leaderboard, found yourself spending a little more time in those 117 bunkers than you'd planned, or simply enjoyed a great day out with customers, colleagues and friends — we hope you enjoyed the day as much as we did.

Congratulations again to our qualifiers, and we'll be cheering you on at the Tenkaichi National Finals in September 2027 in Adelaide

From all of us at Sci-Fleet Hino — thank you for your continued support.
