Competing in the Canungra Combat Challenge

Participating in a good old fashioned combat physical fitness challenge, Sci-Fleet Hino rallied together an enthusiastic team comprising of Craig Andersson (Dealer Principal), Sam Torpy (Salesperson, Nerang), Kelly Nicholas (Vehicle Co Ordinator, Nerang) and Blake Van Huythuysen (Apprentice Technician, Nerang) to complete the Canungra Combat Challenge (C3), now in its 6th year.

In teams of four, competitors take on a 7.4km course of obstacles, bush trails and soldier exercises while raising funds to support Legacy Brisbane and their work supporting veterans’ families. The event is the only one of its kind on an active military base in Australia at the Kokoda Barracks. This is Legacy’s 100th year, and the 3rd time Sci-Fleet Hino has participated in the challenge.

Out of 70 teams, Sci-Fleet Hino were the highest fundraising team donating $7,341 to Legacy Brisbane. The team completed the course in 1 hour, 16 minutes with team member Kelly determined to cross the finish line despite having a suspected broken ankle 1/3 of the way through the course!

Sci-Fleet Hino would like to thank our generous sponsors for supporting the team and our friends and family who cheered us on.
